[Mission] Thank you for your Generosity [Navi/Kismit]

Post by Guest on Tue Nov 19, 2013 1:08 pm

    Spoiler:

Name: Thank you for your Generosity

    Mission Rank: D

Prerequisites: Members from Freeland or Members following the rouge path. Maximum of 4 members.

Requirements: At least 10 posts per member. 150 words per post.

Reward: 30,000 Ryo per participant + 10,000 Ryo for mission success.

Description: Look, see that group of merchants right there? Doesn’t it look like they are struggling so much with the heavy cargo they taking with them? What do you say, my friend, if we go and help them relieve some of their earthly possessions? Hmm… Tempting? Then what are we waiting for? Mission success: Rob the merchants of their merchandize without getting caught.

It wasn't long before that not-so-jovial Nocturne came out again, his jovial elven self being tucked away by a confident and seemingly bloodthirsty being. "...Leave what to you? What are you planning on doing?" Navi himself had planned on just sneaking up and grabbing a bag of food and maybe an extra bag of goods for pawning off later. Sure it wasn't the ballsiest heist in the book, but he had done it plenty of times as a child and actually was able to get quite a bit of good money selling off the more expensive goods to the black market or the back room of certain shops. It was an easy way to earn quick money, and if you had quick enough fingers you might be able to grab a few extra goodies in the precious seconds you have before anyone noticed.

Ezreal doubted that Nocturne had the same childhood he had though, and as they walked toward the caravan he wondered what exactly the elf had in mind. Hopefully he was just planning on stealing a few things like him, he wasn't going to end up hurting anyone if he didn't have to right?

Nocturne turns his gaze towards Ezreal once more as he asks this question, the Shade sighs shaking his head "Allow this Nocturne, a creature that you cannot possibly fathom, to obtain for us the monetary goods that are tucked away into the crates and barrels of this group of merchants.." He speaks his tone cold as he ducks behind a stone nearby the caravan to avoid being spotted as he observes it..the grassy and bright terrain might make this a bit more difficult for the creature to sneak in undetected...although he does have one ability that would make this much easier..

A smirk returns to the creatures face in remembrance of this ability, one he used to skulk around enemy camps in order to slide a knife into the enemy generals heart and cackle quite loudly so they can rush into the camp...only for them to find their leader dead and the knife vanishing in a shroud of black..with the killer known...but nowhere to be found...Ahh...What beautiful fear he spread into the enemy ranks of his hated enemy...

Navi breaths an uneasy sigh of relief upon hearing this explanation, not totally convinced that this was the best method, but willing to give his newly befriended elven accomplice a shot. At least it wasn't quite as sinister as the Shade had made it sound. "I used to do this all the time, are you sure?" the boy says in a hushed tone as they get close, ducking behind the same large stone as he hears the merchants speaking a bit further off next to the caravans.

Either he was bored for action, really wanted to prove himself, or had a certain ability that Ezreal wasn't certain of. Either way it would seem that this left the anxious boy with a supporting role. Should Nocturne confirm that he did indeed want directly be the thief, Navi would take a moment of observation before responding. "This isn't exactly the best environment for a thief to work in...," the largely open terrain and grassy plains making for a rather bright terrain.

"I'll see if I can distract them with a bit of conversation before you go in, wait until the coast is clear alright?" His plan being whispered rather hastily as he thinks on what to say. Still hiding behind the rock, Ezreal peers out to see about five or six merchants in the clearing, looking back to Nocturne for affirmation before making the first move.

The Shade listens to the boys words at first looking a bit indignant at the thought of him being unable to do something, however he does listen and slowly an idea forms in his head a small smirk forming as his earlier reminiscing give him an idea. "Merchants enjoy bartering for artifacts of great apparent value..." He speaks his left hand raising slowly a shroud of black seeping from his hand as a dagger appears in the grasp of Nocturne, his smirk still in place as he flips it once with a quick flick of the wrist and catches it by the flat of the blade pushing the handle towards his young companion.

He speaks as he does so "This is Infernum, an artifact of great power...barter it...fetch a good price from selling it as I sneak away the supplies and whatever else I can pick up...If I call...Infernum will come...and we shall have the money from the purchase as well." He whispers to the Mortal his words smooth and pleasant to the ears as he tempts not only robbery, but trickery as well...more money to be on hand...just by taking the dagger of dark creation..

He speaks again if Infernum is taken from his grasp stating "Go, create the distraction, get us more money, This Nocturne will handle the rest." he states hunkering down a bit lower to the rock to prepare himself.

Ezreal extends his hand to grasp the handle of the "Infernum" blade that Nocturne summoned forth. The mere touch sent a shiver down the boy's spine, the ominous weapon seeming to bare the semblance of one that had killed many people. The Shade had a good idea, and it would likely be a good way to not only distract the merchants, but also net the duo a bit of extra cash. At the same time Navi felt uneasy handling the dagger any longer than he needed to, deciding not to ask any unneeded questions and taking a deep breath before stepping out of cover.

Nodding briefly before biting his lip for a second he headed down towards the merchants now, walking forward with a casual pace and making his presence known with a friendly attention grabbing wave. His person strafes to the side several meters before speaking, this motion being executed casually enough while also forcing the merchants to turn and face him.

"Hey! You folks don't happen to be in the business of purchasing ancient artifacts or weapons do you?"

As the salesman speech begins, the six travelers seem to shift their attention entirely towards him, a successful window created for the heist to begin. Now the only trick would be to keep the act up...

The Shade watches intently for the mortals attention to be drawn to the Young Explorer and off of their surroundings and when it's drawn away he moves silently towards the back of their caravan towards the goods that are expensive enough to sell..but not expensive enough for it to be worth sending a mercenary after them...Yess, the Nocturne is quite clever! Humans value their possessions quite a bit...his eyes are trained on the merchants as he moves out of their range of sight...

Crouching slightly he grabs a sack only partially filled and carefully empties it of it's contents, being sure to be silent as he begins grabbing food to stuff into the first sack made of burlap, yes food first...then the shiny trinkets..
Leaning his head upwards he listens for the boys voice to see how things progress his senses on high alert as he stealthily steals the goods making as little noise as possible.

It would seem that Nocturne had begun the procedure, and now it was up to Ezreal to worry about his role in the robbery. After a brief pause one of the merchants stepped forward to speak. "W're always in the market for buyin' kid, the only question is in the legitimacy of what you're sellin," a strange accent being had by the man who spoke.

"There's no cause for worry about the legitimacy," Ezreal assured, "This weapon is finely crafted and bears the style of what must have clearly been an ancient black smith,".

With these claims the audience of six came a little bit closer, peering upon the weapon in his grasp. They could now see the dagger in much greater detail now, and one didn't need to be a weapon's expert to see that the craftmanship was exceptionally unique and exotically perfected. Ezreal tilts the weapon a bit now to show it off more, both palms held together and outstretched to display it neatly on top of his hands.

    "You don't say..."

The Shade stifles a chuckle as the merchants no doubt admire his blade, such a work of art crafted from his very core...yes, of course they'd be interested in the artifact! Such splendor, such perfect craftsmanship! The blade forged by elven hands with the help of his darkness...Beautiful darkness. He begins tying the sack closed and sets it down quietly picking up another while slowly and carefully beginning to slide precious gems and other trinkets of great value into the sack, packing them tightly so they do not chink or jingle as he walks...better to be careful then to be chased by a horde of angry merchants! Bloodshed is such a nasty thing...and these people seem so happy! He'd hate to have to cut them from the tapestry of life...Like he did those foolish mutts that stood before him and proclaimed themselves his equal...Dragons...such vile creatures!

"Most certainly so!" Ezreal continued, being a bit more energetic to help attract as much attention as possible to captivate his audience. "Please, feel free to take a closer look!"

All six merchants heartily obliged stepping forward to surround the young boy and get a better look at the weapon known as Infernum. One particular merchant stepped forward, different from the one who spoke out previously.

"I've studied plenty of ancient relics, look me have a gander at that a bit closer eh?"

The other five gave a bit of space as the man approached much closer, eyeing the piece of weaponry very close before bending down so his eye level was the same as where the weapon was being held. Either he was indeed an ancient weapons expert or he was putting on a bit of a show, as it seemed the man was studying every groove painfully closely.

"Well what do you think?" Ezreal asked to keep the focus on him and the weapon, not wanting the crowd to have much time to look about or pay attention to anything else.

The Shade pauses in his actions momentarily his eyes narrowing and his ears perking up to hear the Mortals opinion of his blade...Curious as to just how marvelous he thinks it is! Yes, yes truly a magnificent weapon! Beautiful and majestic as it slashes through waves upon waves of enemies spreading pure crimson along it's beautiful edge!

Infernum is truly another one of his works of art..! Yes, now the Shade must hear the mans voice declaring his weapon as such...a work of art! ...Or else. The last Mortal to insult the creature met with a horrible fate, blades fading into the blackness as paranoia swept over his daily life, blades nicking him some days but no one around...no one got near him, whispers coming to him in the night as he slept..slowly driving the man mad as he tortured him into truly fearing the dark...Yes...let's hope the Mortal has good taste in fine art...

"Well son, it's certainly a unique blade," bearing a slight frown. "I can tell that the weapon is a relic of some sort, but I doubt it's super valuable."

Ezreal smiles, catching onto the the merchant's sly salesman trick. Upon realizing that the weapon was indeed a valuable ancient relic, the first tactic of the buyer was to seemingly devalue it as much as possible to get the best possible price. Navi however was not falling for this, having dealt with these salesman tricks countless times in the past.

"I can assure you the weapon is quite valuable, although if you don't feel its worth enough to be added to your wares I'm sure I can travel further inland..."

Having been compromised the man begins to backpedal now, interrupting Navi's counter play to continue the haggling game.

"Now now, don't leave their son! I'm sure that we can agree on a fair price for the trinket you got there."

A charismatic smile appears on Ezreal's lips, he was having a bit of fun with this. Hopefully everything was going according to plan with Nocturne.

Sniffing slightly in disdain a small frown works it way across the creatures face anger being awakened in the creatures black heart, which of course demands retribution..it gets a small amount of satisfaction when his young companion causes the man to panic in a bid to not let his beautiful weapon go...Yes, that's what the Shade thought..the desperation shows his true appreciation for the work of art that is Infernum! Yes, yes..now...back to work.

Tying the bags together and making sure their closed tight the Shade begins slowly working his way around, towards the forest entrance once more...smart of the caravan to stop in an open area rather then the wooded one...makes it less likely for thieves to steal away with their belongings...still...they stopped much too close to make this a very hard get away for a creature like Nocturne who's very bread and butter is the art of stealth.

Hopefully enough time had passed because it looks like they were reaching an end to their transaction.

"Here," the man said hastily, shoving a bag of money into Navi's hands before grabbing the blade from his grasp rather quickly. "Now that's more than enough for a piece like this!"

Obviously the man had gotten impatient with such a valuable artifact being dangled in front of him for so long. Navi didn't bother checking the bag or counting the money, it seemed relatively full anyway and any amount of cash was just a nice and healthy bonus. Besides, its not like they were actually giving the weapon away. It gave Ezreal pause for thought though, it made him wonder how much the blade was actually valued for.

Holding the bag of money in one hand, one of the other merchants who hadn't spoken up yet asked a question. "By the way, where did you happen upon the thing?"

If it came from a nearby ruin the group of travelers would want to know, likely greedy and desiring even more wealth having tasted what it was like to have even one of the artifacts.

The Shade begins dragging away the loot hunching over so it's not so easy to spot him and the bags being dragged away low to the ground. He sighs softly in annoyance at having to perform physical labor, still in perspective it's quite fun to steal away with the loot in this bag.

He remembers points in time where fools tried to steal away with his offerings and he was forced to smite them for their insolence...Good times! Grinning slightly he creeps away slowly dragging the bags toward the brush before his head swivels around his eyes widening as a merchant turns the corner. The merchant blinks and shakes his head..for a moment he thought he saw a black figure...how strange no matter.
Nocturne swallows slightly, sure he could have killed the man in an instant but the high adrenaline in his system makes it harder for him to realize this...besides..it's more fun to hide in plain sight...like he's doing right now with the aid of his Shade-mail.

"It was an artifact passed down from my grandfather," Ezreal responded quickly, giving an answer that wouldn't allow for any further snooping or travels to be done, while still seeming like an innocent enough response. "Ah, that's a shame," the merchant responds, somewhat disappointed in this finding.

"If I hadn't needed the money I wouldn't be selling it, but oh well. Fair travels to you friends!" With that he spins around and begins to walk away, waving for a moment and pricking his ears to hear the barely audible "see ya kid," one of them snickering for having paid only a modest sum for such a valuable weapon. They were likely thinking how well they profited from this scheme, but little would they know that the weapon would disappear as soon as Navi and Nocturne were out of sight and safely hidden a good distance away. He smiles broadly to himself upon realizing how smoothly he had pulled this off. Hopefully his accomplice had gotten away with a good chunk of valuables, he had stalled for a large chunk of time and had a good feeling about their reward.

Nocturne drags the loot all the way into a clearing a stump in the center with moss hanging off of it, meaning it's not freshly cut..perfect.
The Shade relaxes himself sitting down in a reclined position against the stump conveniently tall enough to serve as a backrest for the creature of darkness, taking in the sounds and sight of nature Nocturne smiles contently while sliding his Ocarina from it's hiding place and slowly bringing it to his lips playing a soft slow tune..one that gives the strange sensation of being pulled towards a mystical force...like being led by the hand of a fae, or following a glowing ball of light into a cave...the tune feels enchanted...but that is the magic of music...bringing out certain emotions and feelings...And that is something the shade is quite proud of, why he calls it art...what he deems as art is anything that can get a positive emotional reaction...his dagger brought joy to a certain amount of people...but it was still an amount of people..and therefore it was art..

Ezreal follows the sound of music to find his elven friend, the exotic ocarina music calling out to him with a beautiful beckoning sensation. In Navi's right hand he holds a coveted bag of cash, a portion of loot he will be happy to share with friend with the spoils of everything that Nocturne was able to grab included. He would soon arrive standing only a few meters away from his friend, a large smile on his mischievous face.

"That was awesome! Just about everything went according to plan. Me and you make quite a team huh?"

The hype of the successful heist gave him a wonderful feeling of a dangerous situation. It was a minor adventure to be sure, but it was still an enjoyable experience that Ezreal was excited to have completed. His happy action high was relaxed slightly by the beautiful music being played by the Shade. The guy had a strange personality, but he had to admit that he could get used to becoming partners with him.

Nocturne ends the melody slowly removing the instrument from his face his crimson eyes scanning the boy for any signs of an altercation before nodding in approval and grinning upon the sight of the money grasped firmly in the boys hands "Yes! Yes it was! And yes we do!" He notes gleefully sliding his instrument away while turning towards the sacks to the right of the stump and standing up leaning over the sacks and opening the one with food in it..Nocturne even managing to grab a bottle of wine out of the ordeal "Let us enjoy the fruits of our labor, while we count the....fruits of our labor!" He states with a small chuckle a look on his face making it appear as if he said something quite clever! Plucking a pastry from the bag he takes a bite before gesturing towards the bag in order to invite the young Explorer to partake in a snack...that they just stole! What fun!

Ezreal laughs heartily, sticking his hand into the bag with a huge smile on his face. After rummaging around a bit feeling the valuable stones, gems and other goods, Navi picks up out an apple from the tasty bag. The shiny green fruit is rubbed on his jacket a little bit before he takes a hearty bite, the tasty juices flowing through his taste buds after swallowing. It was a great feeling, and he didn't remember being this successful after a heist in quite a long time. Maybe part of it was because they had fenced the dagger at the same time, but both friends seemed very satisfied with what profit they were able to net.

After grasping a fine bottle of wine, he pours himself a glass before raising a toast. "To the fruits of our labor and for future adventures together." Should Nocturne clink glasses with him, Ezreal would immediately down the glass, celebrating their victory in the freelands and his new found friendship.

Nocturne shares in the laughter grabbing a glass and pouring himself a drink while his companion eats his snack of choice, taking a sip from the glass he closes his eyes a small smirk upon his lips as he remembers the days he sat upon an elven throne in his own wing of the castle, servants and some of his platoons dancing merrily as he lounged and basked in the atmosphere, beautiful creatures feeding his pastries and sweet fruit...quite the delectable memory..and life....

He sighs softly wishing that he could still be in his castle, those foolish mutts...if he could he'd make them pay..his vengeance would be infinitely more terrifying then theirs. Turning his attention towards his companion as he makes a toast and raises the glass, Nocturne grins and clinks the glass together with his new friend before downing the wine as well.

...Though perhaps this world isn't such a bad place...
